Willie Whopper in "Reducing Creme"

Reducing Creme is an Ub Iwerks cartoon released on 19th May 1934, as a part of the short lived Willie Whopper series. It's a very typical cartoon for the Iwerks output of that period: it doesn't contain some really funny gags, but the animation and design are on quite good level. Iwerks cartoons in general had very distinctive character design, and often boosted some neat special effects and tricks (in this case, the short but quite effective transformation scene). Reducing Creme is a very good and pleasant cartoon, though it doesn't reach the level of Stratos-Fear, a real cult favorite and the very best Willie Whopper cartoon of all time.

Bruce has posted an excellent and very comprehensive article about this great animation pioneer, covering all the parts of his fascinating career. It's really everything you wanted to know about Ub Iwerks, but were afraid to ask :)
