One of my favorite JAY WARD cartoons...HOPPITY HOOPER.
Love this 1962 BULLWINKLE Little Golden Book! Here are a few pages from the book, which was written by David Corwyn and illustrated by Hawley Pratt & Harry Garo! Beautiful work!
Love the 1960s BULLWINKLE Gold Key comic books! This is BULLWINKLE #1 from 1962. The JAY WARD cartoons and characters are an inspiration to me and my work.
BULLWINKLE J. MOOSE! Did this a few years ago with colored pencils on textured violet paper.
E-mail your commission requests to me at powsley@flash.net! I was commissioned not long ago to do this 8" x 10" QUISP piece with markers, brush & ink on bristol board. Love the classic JAY WARD characters!
I have this piece posted in my blog sidebar, but wanted to post it here so you can get a larger view. This HOPPITY HOOPER piece measures 8" x 10" and was created with markers, brush, pen & ink with cel vinyl paint on coquille board. Love this classic JAY WARD character! HOPPITY HOOPER is one of the first TV cartoons that I remember watching.

Being a great fan of JAY WARD, I love the CAP'N CRUNCH cereal TV commercials of the 1960s and 1970s. Here's the original art for the 1960s CAP'N CRUNCH coloring book from Whitman! I'm also posting a photo of the actual coloring book. Click on each image for a larger view!
Recently, I've been looking at a lot of old TV cartoon character paintings that you see on 1960s merchandise like Little Golden Books, Whitman coloring book covers, frame tray puzzles, etc. I think it's the best era of TV cartoon merchandise. Here's SHERMAN from Jay Ward's PEABODY'S IMPROBABLE HISTORY. I did this 6" x 9" piece with markers and colored pencils on coquille board. Click image for a larger view. E-mail me at powsley@flash.net.
