NHS direct
NHS direct was launched a few years ago now. Like most Government IT projects, it was misguided and poorly thought out. It was designed to give the public somewhere to get advice, without phoning for an ambulance at 2am in the morning. An amusing consequence of the website was a questions and answers section (sadly now removed from the site). If you went onto the section about arms, it would ask you a series of questions. One of them was "have you severed your arm?" - like you'd be surfing the Internet in such a scenario! Hilarious. Now NHS direct is just a medical encyclopedia.
