I'll hold my hands up to this one. The words were stolen from one of those web lists that claim to have genuine funny things said in court. Stuck me straight away that this was ripe for a cartoon. It doesn't matter if it's true or not (the radio ventriloquist WAS true btw) - it's still a funny line. The web is such a rich source of this kind of thing. Funny entries on insurance forms might be another target soon.
Have to recommend a plug in for IE and FireFox. It's called Stumble upon. Works like this. You tell it the sort of websites you like, funny, bizarre, knitting patterns, whatever you like, and then you can click on a button to take you to a random page. People using Stumble Upon can give the thumbs up, or down - so the dross usually gets filtered out. It's a great tool, and you can get it here
