I was tempted to put a Volkswagen Campervan in the background of this cartoon, after all the nonsense with Volkswagen USA Inc. Maybe I should make a point of including them in all future cartoons? Maybe not.
I was inspired to draw this cartoon after seeing the excellent movie, HOT FUZZ. Seeing a living statue used in such a comedic way, told me that there was a gag in there somewhere (that hadn't already been included in the film - that would be naughty!). I think it works quite well. Possibly only works in colour though.

FELIX FLANKIN

I was just going through my files and came across this piece. It's FELIX FLANKIN from the 1967 Rankin/Bass "animagic" feature film, MAD MONSTER PARTY. The film starred the voice talents of BORIS KARLOFF, PHYLLIS DILLER and ALAN SWIFT. I created the FELIX art with markers, colored pencils and brush & ink on coquille board. Click on FELIX to enlarge. Lingerie Boss Turns Down MBE!

Joseph Corre, co-founder of lingerie firm Agent Provocateur has turned down his recently awarded MBE, as he feels unable to receive an honour from a 'morally corrupt' Prime Minister, such as Tony Blair. He describes Tony Blair as a man without honour. His wife, and co partner in the firm is to accept her MBE.

As some of you will know, yesterday I attempted to set this image up on CafePress as an experiment to see if anyone would buy a T-Shirt with it on. CF put a freeze on the image, as they feel it infringes the intellectual property rights of Volkswagen USA inc! The only possible resolution suggested is to contact VW USA inc to gain permission to use this image (which belongs to me - as I created it). I simply cannot afford to 'gain permission' from VW for me to market my own image. I suppose at least it suggests that it's a good likeness of a VW Campervan.

Graves to be reused.

Graves filled at least 100 years ago can be re-used under government plans to ease pressure on cemeteries.

Ministers say all designated burial space in England and Wales will be full in 30 years, unless changes are made.

In a technique called "lift and deepen" old graves will be deepened with room for up to six new coffins to be placed on top of the older remains.

Families could refuse permission for their ancestors' graves to be re-used for "at least another generation".

But once the deeper graves have been used once there will be no time constraints on when subsequent bodies are buried in them.
