UNDERDOG ornament

My good friend, Rick Goldschmidt, who is the official Rankin/Bass biographer and historian, tells me that there is a new UNDERDOG ornament now available! Dark Horse Comics and Classic Media have teamed up once again to deliver another outstanding UNDERDOG collectible. Here's a photo of the UNDERDOG ornament and a piece of UNDERDOG character art that I did last year for Classic Media's UNDERDOG style guide. It appears that the pose used for the ornament was based on my art of UNDERDOG crashing through the wall. The ornament looks great! It's just as we see UNDERDOG on TV! You can order the UNDERDOG ornament from Kevin Kreiss of Time and Space Toys at http://timespacetoys.stores.yahoo.net/prunor.html. Order yours today! Also be sure to check Rick Goldschmidt's Rankin/Bass blog at http://www.enchantedworldofrankinbass.blogspot.com/.

Cartoon of the Month: "Scrap Happy Daffy"

This month's cartoon is Frank Tashlin's WWII classic "Scrap Happy Daffy", which is, in my opinion, one of the best WWII-themed WB cartoons, as well as one of the greatest examples of Tashlin's directorial skills.
For this reason, I think it would have made a nice addition to the already excellent Tashlin disc featured in this year's Looney Tunes Golden Collection. If the inclusion of a future wartime disc would be planned, I'd love to see this cartoon on it!
And now, on to the cartoon itself!
(By the way, the one to post the exact lines of the first song number, with all the names of the objects that Daffy mentions at a speeded voice, will win the Rock of Gibraltar delivered personally by my friend Duck Dodgers! :P)

Train Fare Increase

Passengers face above-inflation price hikes for rail tickets from January, train companies have announced.

Unregulated fares, which companies are able to set themselves and cover tickets such as cheap day returns, will increase by between 3% and 7%.

The Association of Train Operating Companies said the money was needed to pay for ongoing service improvements.

Passenger groups have criticised the price increases and said rail users are already paying high fares.

"Pleased to Eat You"

This cartoon, as strange as it can sounds, was rarely available to the general pubblic in his original form.
However, it was not shown with cuts or similia, but in black and white!

As the majority of the early Famous short, "Pleased to Eat You" is a terrific entry.
Most of the strenght of the cartoon comes from the vocal characterization of Sid Raymond, here in his Berth Lahr's Cowardly Lion persona (the same voice he used for Wolfie by the way).

Here you have the cartoon in good ol' Technicolor, has originally intended to be shown.
Enjoy!
